A bit too timely given the current moment, but I'm excited to have my chapter with Bryn Rosenfeld "Democratic Backsliding and the Politicization of Public Employment" as a part of this volume.

Now watching Trump yell at Zelensky. And Vance talk to him like he's a toddler. This is a shameful moment for United States diplomacy. It will be hard to recover from this.
Occam's Razor: always go back to Trump's 3 core beliefs, as spelled out by Tom Wright in 2016: Trump is anti-trade, anti-alliances, and pro-authoritarianism. All the theater with Macron and Starmer, all the talk of deals--he is not going to give Ukraine security anything.
