Really, this is Matt using his (and his audience's) ignorance to pretend that it would be normal to fund research the way he THINKS it should be funded, rather than the way it has and will be funded.
To run interference so Trump isn't blamed, really. Shameful.

But because Harvard has an endowment, his first reaction is "they should have used that" to pay for the studies.

So, how would a University pay for studies if it had no endowment? (Also, Harvard is often the LEAD in studies, but MANY Universities help out -- how would that work?)

But his friends in the Trump admin, to "cut costs", instituted WIDE REACHING halts/freezes/terminations, even to in progress studies and promising medical treatments.

While they made hay announcing it, Fed. Gov't spending went UP this fiscal year, so we didn't save a dollar.

Matt's framing is dishonest, but that is par for the course for him. This is about a specific form of cancer, and not all cancer; and we had a way to fund research (including for various cancers) that worked well for 50+ years.

This proves that they don't even look carefully at what they repost, no less what they quote tweet. It's sourced from a satire site.

But glad to know they are such heavy boosters of disinfo!!

There are other clear tells, like never *actually* identifying the company, the announcement coming now despite Mamdani's term not starting until 2026.

Oh, and referring to NYC as the "five Burroughs", something that is pretty unique to local New Yorkers.

Okay, so you know that MAGA dudes are CAREFUL with their sources when the *included picture* says "NOTHING on this page is REAL" right in it, and both the OP and Catturd didn't clue in to this, AT ALL.

This does show how most GOPers feel about people who are less fortunate -- not that they had bad luck, but if only they did what the GOPers thought they SHOULD do, they wouldn't be in poverty. Because making the *right* choice solves everything, right?

This of course ignores the fact that poor people are often working 2 or 3 part time jobs, and this makes their food prep time almost non existent.
But sure, let's only let them buy raw items that need cooking, without thinking things through.
What a solution!! 🤦

Because, it seems, the way you get poor people to "make good choices" is to -- eliminate ANY choice.

I mean, why provide choice when you could just dictate it, right? Once people have only one choice, then that makes it sure that they'll pick the RIGHT one, no?

So, remember, the GOP used to be the party of "cutting regulation" and "getting Government OUT of your lives".

Now though, it seems there is an exception to this mantra -- poor people.

Now, it's possible that through monetization that the person running the account does this in overdrive, and it's top posted because of how much engagement it gets.

But the name of the account suggests to me it's a bought account, and that makes the rest suspicious.

Now, "Paul"/bubblebathgirl is a pure troll -- I see it show up on almost every news post, proclaiming how evil Dems are and how the GOP are "fixing" things.
I say "it" because I'm pretty sure it's not a single person, as the replies always come awful quick and it's often one of the top posts.

It's also strange that every norm/safeguard/law has to be tossed aside for Trump to have his good economy; we didn't need to do this for almost 250 years, but all of a sudden we need have to change our whole legal approach.

November 8, 2025 at 7:44 PM
Now, on it's face, it's so dumb -- much of the Covid response was done under Trump in his first term, but facts and linear time matter not to the MAGA faithful.

Dems and Biden did some things to ease issues and later to fight inflation, but everything bad was them.

The dumb thing is that Cruz 100% supports this in general, and probably doesn't have anything to hide or worry about, but Trump needs performers and so here is Ted to bang the cymbals.

Good dog Ted, good dog!

I guess all of those Heidi (Ted's wife) insults Trump said did the trick ... because Ted, who is a lawyer and knows better, mutters out this insanity.

Just to be clear, this wasn't wiretaps and CONTENTS of the calls, just who they called and who called them, likely looking for Trump calls.
