We used existing guideline papers to explain our decision making during the design of a study investigating situational meaning in life, eating disorder symptoms, and negative affect. We also provide a checklist for other researchers planning their ESM study!

2/ construct a causal network based on cross-sectional data from the general population. Our results show that life meaning is serving as a causal hub variable between weight/shape/eating concerns and depressive symptoms.
