My parents’ house in SoCal originally had cedar shake shingles. They were replaced 35 years ago. I could understand an insurer wanting cedar shake replaced. Now composite fiberglass, asphalt shingles don’t seem like they’re all that combustible regardless of age. However I’m not an expert.

Discovered SciFi in the early 70s. For me the defining book for cyberpunk is Neuromancer. YMMV

I grew up on Asimov, Heinlein, Herbert, Niven, Pournelle, Pohl, and so many more.
