The really stupid ones are the over 60s who’ve voted in successive governments that have initiated & maintained greatly widened inequality, catastrophic privatisation, overseen a financial crash & voted Brexit. We still have a govt that thinks it’s housekeeping

Everything’s too complicated for Rory Stewart because the world is a ‘complex place’. He has no sense of explanatory hierarchy but confidently expresses his opinion. He’s probably never heard of Thomas Picketty so knows nothing of your economic space.

This is because these young people are clear about the science. They were taught at school so they’re not fooled by climate denial. Likewise they are at the sharp end of inequality and lost opportunity stemming from Thatcher’s legacy & beyond. Shows the importance of informed education to democracy

For all its problems-& they do have problems- BBC News prevents the UK from being swamped by the ultra conservative authoritarian right media-Telegraph, Mail, Express, GB News etc. That‘s why they go after it so venomously despite its centre right lean. For democracy it’s imperative BBC is preserved
