Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Marble School (in conjunction with St. John’s, Ocean Springs), has been offering Morning Prayer, An Order of Service for Noonday, Evening Prayer, and Compline every day. The service of prayer is made via Zoom. St. John’s, Ocean Springs, then webcasts

I appreciate the appeal of the “language as pointing and naming” view—it echoes a kind of common-sense empiricism. But even that act of pointing is itself saturated with metaphor. What does it mean to “point” in a world of abstractions, emotions, values, or time?
