There’s 9 productions company intros filling almost 2 minutes of screen time before Late Night with the Devil begins. That’s 2% of the total runtime of the film.

After the 4th one I thought it had to be a joke - this can’t be real. I’m still baffled. I’ve never seen anything like this before.

It’s funny how the Predator soundtrack is pretty much just selections from the Back to the Future score but with more drums.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it I guess.

Star Trek on Paramount streaming is unwatchable. There are an absurd number of ads and they’re not even timed to the natural ad breaks of the show.

In the first 6 minutes of this episode of TNG there have already been almost 3 minutes of ads.

Wait, watching the Hellraiser movie series and the main theme is just lifted directly from Rachmaninov’s prelude in C# minor. It’s even the same key. I was like, “why does this sound so familiar?”

Just goes to show there’s endless public domain material to use when needed.

The Chair Company may be the best work of pure auteur creation with a singular vision I’ve seen since Midnight Mass.

Tim Robinson is truly the Mike Flanagan of Seth Rogan’s.

And like Midnight Mass, a truly inspired deconstruction of genre.

Another example of slop reporting. There is NO information in this “article” that isn’t just copied from another source. No actual research or journalism done in any way. Brings absolutely nothing new to the table.

Doesn’t even have pics of items in question.

Donald Trump accused of using Home Depot for White House renovations
As renovations at the White House continue, social media users have ran with the idea that Home Depot is playing a role.

I know you gotta do what you gotta do, but Hexclad is scam-adjacent. It’s an overpriced, disposable, possibly toxic product thats only selling point is paid celebrity endorsers and wildly exaggerated claims.

Re: Robocop pod

Follow-up on the discussion of the meta nature of Starship Troopers; the interstitial propaganda pieces gradually become the movie itself as more cast and plot is incorporated into them culminating with the whole cast and the finale.

I’m pretty sure that when you call in to an automated line and it says “listen carefully as our options have recently changed,” that’s a lie. Their options haven’t recently changed, they just want to to listen to the whole menu.

In Pirates of the Caribbean why does Jack turn into a skeleton immediately after taking the the gold?

Shouldn’t it take like weeks or months of decaying to get to that point?

He should just look normal.

The mechanics of this curse is unclear.

The DAP expert responses to poor product reviews (mostly due to user error) on Home Depot are low key ruthless. Love it.

Ridley Scott essentially invented the concept of a directors cut with Blade Runner, ushered in the trend of directors cuts bypassing terrible studio edits with Kingdom of Heaven, and finally perfected the unnecessary, superfluous directors cut with Napoleon.

What a legend.

Spoilers for the upcoming James Gunn Superman movie?

Superman will lift a series of progressively heavier objects until the climax when he lifts an object so large and heavy that we thought he couldn’t lift it.

Or the Snyder version where he substitutes punching harder for lifting things.

WaPo at it again with one of the worst article summaries I’ve ever read.
President Donald Trump had a complicated relationship with Pope Francis.

The complexity of that relationship will be on display on Saturday, when Trump and the first lady plan to be in Rome to attend Francis’s funeral at the Vatican.
Pope Francis often criticized Trump. But he knew how to charm him, too.

Been rewatching The Wire:

Every scene ends with like a 2-5 second long reaction shot without any dialogue.

It’s great.

I kinda wanted the plot of The Studio to be Seth Rogan making the Scorsese Kool Aid movie w/o letting his boss know it’s about Jonestown and keeping Scorsese in the dark that it’s being promoted as a big Kool Aid ad.

But maybe that’s dumb.

When everything’s shit you have to appreciate the small achievements in life.

Such as replacing the sticky seal on the toilet tank mechanism.

Flushes like absolute butter now. How could I have ever considered having to jiggle and force the handle living my best life?

A funny thing about Graham Hancock is that he claims the evidence for a lost, advanced ice age civilization is widespread and self evident but also that archaeologists can’t find any of it.

It’s like in flat earth where it only works if there’s a global conspiracy to keep the truth hidden.

I guess that’s just how DCU on HBO is gonna do it.

Incredibly pathetic and disappointing from Moore. It’s time for Maryland to join the 46 other states (plus DC) that live in the post-prohibition world.

We voted against Trone but enragingly we our reps aren’t getting the message.

Sad.

The reason the “Bride of Frankenstein” has hair like that isn’t because of the scientific experimentation; it’s because this was during the Georgian period in the 1700s where having big tall hair was quite in fashion.

I just realized this 🤯
