That said, the Pipe Fox spirit of xxxHolic takes on another form at times in the story (usually during especially serious situations).
This other form is not only more fox-like, but specifically seems to be based off the legendary 9-tailed fox (which you may have heard of). No spoilers, though.

The manga #xxxHolic is a long-running manga series by #CLAMP, which focuses largely on folklore, spirits, and ghosts - both Japanese and otherwise.
Unsurprisingly, it features a couple foxy characters, one of which being the (incredibly cute) Pipe Fox spirit.

That said, copies of the game are still available, and you can even get figurines of Kongiku and Yuzuruha, which... while they probably won't help Muramasa get re-released anytime soon, do look really nice.

It's interesting to note that, though in game, Zenko only ever has the one tail, in concept art, Zenko was supposed to have two additional tails when they shift to the spirit realm form.

Zenko starts as a regular fox... more or less, but soon unlocks deeper abilities (and lighter colors) as they help the spirits around the shrine.
