Always been dental insurance for mine. I don't think medical insurance covering dental work is the norm. There are specific conditions where it will, but generally not for common dental procedures.

I don't consider root canals cosmetic. The crown that goes on top...*maybe*. I would argue that having functional teeth to eat with is not purely cosmetic.

Whenever I see them I think,
"It's almost as if dental care shouldn't be separate from medical care." People can't afford dental care. Not that medical care is affordable but we have made dental care a luxury.
