This is one of those things that made sense to me when I used macOS fulltime but drives me crazy when I have to switch between platforms and can't build up muscle memory.

I suspect that if I hadn't reinstalled when I upgraded the motherboard my desktop would've done the same thing to me eventually.

Annoying as it is it's nice that they built in a mechanism to recognize that shit's fucked.

I think the problem is that understanding why requires a deeper understanding of how the runtimes for these languages, and the operating system beneath them, work.

To be generous to the authors of such tutorials I suspect that they think explaining async syntax itself is complicated enough already.
