cool cool cool, so, if her doctor was using an AI chat bot, the doctor would still have been using that research, and the chat bot probably wouldn't have given you the date the paper was published or the name of the researcher, and you wouldn't have known to change doctors???
January 10, 2026 at 9:32 PM
"my mom was given a very difficult to understand 7-year-old research paper and I knew the researcher through PCF and AGDQ so I reached out to them and they said the research was out of date and we should switch doctors"

that's how trust works, though? you trust someone until they make a mistake, then you lose some trust until they do the work to prove they are worthy of trust again ... and this corporate apology by itself? does not do any work to build back trust

so if long term weight loss CANNOT BE MEANINGFULLY ACHIEVED, how can weight loss be part of cancer prevention?
January 5, 2026 at 3:09 AM
"In a meta-analysis of 29 long-term weight loss studies, more than half of the lost weight was regained within two years, and by five years more than 80% of lost weight was regained"

Maintenance of lost weight and long-term management of obesity
Weight loss can be achieved through a variety of modalities, but long-term maintenance of lost weight is much more challenging. Obesity interventions typically result in early rapid weight loss followed by a weight plateau and progressive regain. ...

UGH, I hate public proposals so much

but okay, this is pretty funny

David shows up at Rachel's show, unexpectedly

Rachel, surprised: David!

Clay, on his knees having proposed to Rachel: no, it's Clay
December 23, 2025 at 7:38 AM
okay, "did women do something to you?" is Clay's best line so far
December 23, 2025 at 7:19 AM
Clay is just so ... bland? like, he's basically Chris Hemsworth's character in Ghostbusters (2016), only less quirky and less funny
December 23, 2025 at 7:11 AM
ugh, I get that the Golem (his name is Clay) knows her so well that he can basically read her mind, but I don't get his appeal 🤷🏻

I've always preferred nerdy guys to beefcakes, though, so that's probably at least part of why I'm more into the reedy comedy guy (who is a real person and not a Golem)
December 23, 2025 at 7:05 AM
I get that they need to explain Golems to the goyische audience, but a Jewish sculptor who has never heard of the Golem?!?

Main Lady's mom is, uh, infuriating

like Jewish Mom Stereotype turned up to eleven

anyway, thanks for reading! hopefully Hallmark will make our Trans Hanukkah Hallmark Movie in the next year or two

bsky.app/profile/comi...
Obviously my main wish for the future is a queer Hanukkah movie, and me and @foxkvells.bsky.social will continue to work on our idea for U-Haul Hanukkah: A Trans Lesbian Hanukkah Movie. But aside from that, I'd love to see more silly stuff like time travel. And more Tim Nhlazane making faces.

the sisters aren't Jewish, they weren't raised Jewish, neither of them had Jewish mothers & no one pulls the Love, Lights, Hanukkah! crap of "we're half Jewish? time to celebrate Chanuka!", but it's still a Jewish story

oh yeah, there's a romance, and it's fine, but the family story is everything
December 22, 2025 at 8:50 PM
he leaves them each half of the family run apple orchard that is actually failing & I was watching this going, I can't put my finger on it but this movie feels slightly Jewish?

...

AND THEN THE REVEAL: the sisters' paternal grandmother escaped the Holocaust with antiques that might save the farm
