I've designed quite a simple flag for New England based on the current flag of the United States of America. Six stripes to represent the five states & one commonwealth that make up the New England area & one star to represent a united republic & people. What are yer thoughts on my design?

Should we strive to reform our flags image away from the corrupt ideals it's represented for over 200 years or should we redesign it to represent new ideals? If we should redesign it, then should we simply redesign the canton as we've done since the beginning or should we redesign the entire flag?
