i usually pick a show or media i like as a starting point, then go "what could i do to make this better", then get increasingly deranged from there

and yet, every time, i tune back in in hopes it's better this time.

And last time they had a concert? And an artist's alley? It's like... is this a convention? it's not about the speedruns anymore. it's a Production, courting Metrics, trying to always one-up the last one and get more money. always do bigger. all that matters is the big stuff.

and it sucks.

and i mean. they're funding the PCF. literally anything they do to get money is basically definitonally morally good. but i hate how they hold things hostage for big games. how they pretend they will move on if goals aren't met, then basically force things to a standstill to meet them.

and it just repeats.

also, i hate the HOOOOIIIIIIIIIP yells. they're annoying. i think i just hate call-and-response things in general.

i liked GDQ better as an online event. or even before. when the focus was on the running. now it's just Donation Goals, Donation Goals, Donation Goals. they try to build up HOOOIIIIP for upcoming runs at the expense of the present runs, then those upcoming runs become the present runs.

The speedruns get less and less focus. it's more about THE PRIZES with segments and skits by people who are trying to be sent and failing. the one time they hold the entire marathon hostage while blasting undertale music to try to guilt people into donating is infamous, but like...
