The screw which fixes the indexing gear of my lathe became loose over time and disappeared somehow. I ordered a new screw. It was an interesting opportunity to learn about the inner parts of my lathe 😎

This piece took me quite a while to make. It is made from oak, which I brushed, dyed and where I applied golden paste to highlight the grain.

Last weekend I joined a two-day wood turning workshop about turning bowls. Here is the first bowl I finished there. The dark rim was made using a blowtorch, which is an interesting and yet easy-to-make design element.

I recently finished this square bowl made from some lovely oak. I tried hard wax oil as a finish for the first time, and I am quite satisfied with the result.

I made a bowl from some lovely Australian wood, which is probably marri. The wood was very difficult to work with, and so the bowl became much smaller than initially planned 😅
