I hope Tim Walz writes back saying one word No
while yes we’re generally pissed on what he’s doing we also know that we have tons of systems in place to prevent people like trump from staying in power longer then 8 years, also even if he tried to stay in the White House longer Secret service can and will arrest him/kick him out of the building

and while I get your frightened, do not forget that the us constitution is still strong and the consequences of breaking those amendments are coming to him and his cabinet slowly, also the us system automatically stripes the president of all his powers when it becomes noon on January 20th

In some countries yes but in the United States no, even if martial law was implemented elections would still need to be carried out, no matter what, as the president of the United States has no power to stop elections even during wars, or during a martial law period

Not to mention you would need three-fourths of the states also to ratify the change which in this political climate is impossible

Even if martial law is imposed election would still be held no matter what, trump and his GOP trifecta have no power to stop it unless they secure a 2/3 thirds majority in both houses of congress

I will say it’s definitely possible, but first the party needs to fix its overall unified messaging, and its lack of leadership, and its division, if the party fixes all of that we can definitely win back the house and maybe even the senate

There also not fixing, the parties messaging problem, leadership problem as right now there’s no leader, and the overall division within the party

Same here but at the same time the Democratic Party has no unfited message to offer the people, no leadership, the party itself is divided on who should lead it, and it’s worrying because if they can’t solve these issues there’s a more likely chance we lose the midterms rather then win it

I’m surprised no states have filed a lawsuit against him as this is very much illegal as the president doesn’t have the power to dictate how states vote the only people who have that authority are the governors and the state government

Yeah I just saw that now I will personally agree with your strategy except for the part about ceasing all funding part I will say maybe some but not all as the party needs to still be able to function at some capacity

Honestly I think Chuck Schumer should step down but it’s mainly the dem senators that need to get into the fight as the house is already in the fight

and yes we’re not playing by normal rules anymore but that doesn’t mean we should kick out people who are fighting donald trump just because there not pressuring Chuck Schumer to step down, it’s inherently a idiotic move which will only benefit the republicans and embolden them even more

I would rather have house democrats who are doing their job and doing a good job at that then ones who just go after Chuck Schumer your suggestion is plainly insane which gives a huge risk to democrats losing the 2026 midterms 1/2

The lines do need to be hard but at the cost of the republicans winning and doing more damage to the country and voting out the people who are actually trying to get him out is just deplorable

are you insane risking the next election in the house is not coherent and will only cause even more problems the Dems in the house are doing there best to oppose Schumer but you need to understand that it’s the dem senators responsibility not the house to hold Schumer accountable

And I will reiterate that in turning off the faucets to people who are already applying pressure to him it’s only going to cause more harm then good

I would recommend just the senate, as the house dems are unanimous in favor of kicking Chuck Schumer out as senate minority leader, but it’s really up to the democratic senators the house dems shouldn’t have to suffer, when they already support his removal
