Use your voices, put pressure on your representatives and don't be nice because nice means standing back and watching terrible things happen.

I would say that right now, the wrong people learned from history and are using it to solidify a fascist regime. BUT because they are following along with the same playbook, we can stop them. We, more importantly Americans, need to recognize that "normal" is gone.

I can understand that. I guess as a history major, who works in a field where studying history happens daily, I am not all that stunned.

Can I ask why stunned?

I don't think it is a discussion worth my time.

From an outside perspective, the U.S. is heading towards a fascist state. The President is ignoring all sorts of checks and balances, making decisions that that position does not have the authority to make. DOGE is not at all constitutional.

What do you think is actually happening?

I truly think that Carney is the best option to lead us through this mess. His understanding and involvement in the world economy, his steps to solidify and expand new trade and military partners and the fact that he is the polar opposite of PP will only benefit Canada.

Destroy your economy? Force a recession? Fracture trading relationships with most if not all major trading partners? Shift taxpayers money to Trump and his cronies businesses? That is what you voted for?

I am grateful for his leadership and for his determination to actually help as many Canadians as possible. He often wore his heart on his sleeve and that made some people angry.
