"Twilight and evening bell
And after that the dark
And may there be no sadness of farewell
When I embark
For though from out our bourne of time and place
The flood may bear me far
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crossed the bar."

Cannot be arsed doing a whole thread but here is my thinking about latest developments in the BS.

It’s worth listening to our podcast where we rather predicted aims and intentions of the AFU and explored the way Russia does air defence.

Interesting timing for a mission and obvious centre of interest. And tough choice for the regional air defence commander. Go EMCON and risk losing your recognised air picture, or stay active and gift the Combat Sent data.

Circular mounting ring for port SeaCat missile launcher, which was blown over the side./3

I wonder if the missile hit here initially, moving right to left. /2

Damage to HMS Glamorgan post Exocet strike 12th June. Of note is the MRS3 director which appears to have tracked the missile until impact. The missile possibly ricocheted off the round dome, activating delay fuze, before skidding along deck and detonating, blowing a hole down. /1

Tigers were beautiful looking when they first came out. I recall being told, as a bundle of joy a few months old and teething, I received a dab of rum on the gums down the seaman’s mess on the Blake to stop the screaming😂

Me and rum fell in love then!

Coming soon, another fantastic episode from the team where we look in-depth at the loss of HMS Coventry. An absolute privilege to have a survivor onboard for this one, who will talk to @DMBrookfield whilst we examine the events that day, and remember the blokes still on eternal patrol.

Original notes which I could find this time! Good luck trying to read the scrawl which was the result of an evening sustained drinking /2

Two firm favourites out the stash. Really took my time with this pairing. Not cheap. The Geneve uses Nicaraguan Condega Visus tobacco and Dominican Visus filler tobaccos with a dark Mexican binder.
£50 but worth every penny /1

Another cracker from the Independent bottler Signatory. I love their stuff. You can have a very mundane brand and they do strange magical things and produce stunning whisky.

The RAF flights are particularly noteworthy.

Our biggest multi part project so far, telling the story of the largest amphibious operation since World War Two.

A tale of loss, heroism and penny pinching in defence that cost lives.

Last minute checks ready for new episode. With our amazing producer and editor Anna, @dmbrookfield.bsky.social , @intercityfc.bsky.social, @hopc.bsky.social , Latin and a very special guest and survivor of the loss of HMS Coventry Keith.

Always good to have a fellow Jedi Knight RP join.

Combat Sent is rather rarer. Only two on the books? Maybe he will go to the ME. Maybe Baltic. And interesting that an RQ is joining the party.
Usually this would suggest a bit of an uptick in ISTAR around Kaliningrad today.

Not so sure now.

Don’t think this is to do with cables.

Last night.

This is a pattern. Same two days ago. He’s not after a submarine I don’t think. So, something on the surface up to no good.
September 27, 2025 at 10:48 PM
No idea. I assume a surface track. Not on AIS.
