Licensed NH wildlife rehabilitator. Always tired. Always in need of coffee.
And because my supporters are amazing, here’s a treat: a video of Peekaboo the porcupine absolutely stuffing his face with sweet potatoes like it’s an Olympic sport.
Peak joy. Peak chaos. Peak Peekaboo. 🦔💚

To assure our security cameras are always in working order, our team of technicians does regular camera cleaning as part of their maintenance duties.

I think it was just today that Grasshopper learned how to use his wheel (with Tim's encouragement).
This was one of his early attempts but by later in the afternoon, he was training for the Olympics.

Justin, our three legged Ambassador skunk, getting a manicure.
He's overweight and I have him on a diet but it doesn't seem to be taking the weight off. Honestly, I can relate that. ❤️

Grasshopper enjoying a walnut in front of his new wheel. 💚
I want to thank the two people who recently donated two brand new wheels from our Amazon wishlist.
Emmett got the other one but he hasn't been cooperative in letting me get a photo of him with it!

Elliott. ❤️

That's Elliot's #GoodnightGrape.
His fur has come in nicely but he still has a little rat tail with a lion's tuft.
He's also decided that I'm not so bad. He will gently take his grapes from me now. ❤️

Emmett enjoying his bedtime grape. ❤️
(Sound on if you lip smacking!)

That's my sweet little Crumpet with a VERY large blueberry. 💙
She's one of the most joyful squirrels I have ever known. She doesn't like to come out of her cage though. It's her safe space and panicks if she can't see the bars over her head. Otherwise, life is good for her. ❤️

I love Elliott. He's awesome. ❤️
October 23, 2025 at 3:21 AM
Elliott is starting to gain weight and the fur is starting to grow back. He's obviously active and playful so it looks like we are on the mend! ❤️

This butthead has been 💩ing in his water intentionally... And LAUGHING while he does it!

Never go to sleep without your favorite stuffy.

Elliott is a bit of an enigma.
You can see he is losing fur - something that often happens in cases of malnutrition. He's going through treatment for internal parasites and hopefully after that he will start gaining and regrowing his coat.

Look at Crumpet's happy little face.
A squirrel with her disabilities - vision impairment and a neurological condition - wouldn't last long in the wild. Crumpet lucked out. She's got a soft warm nest, plenty of food and toys and no predators to fear.

He needed patience so he could see no one was going to hurt him so I talked quietly to him. Here's the result. ❤️
And when put him back in his cage, he started growling at me again. Just like Phil. ❤️ 😁

My little Crumpet.
She may not see very well and she may wobble a bit but she knows how to party. ❤️

Elliott informed me this morning that my days were numbered... Just as soon as he's had his bubba. 🍼 😁

Meet Elliott.
Elliott was found on the road this morning in Claremont. Initially mistaken for dead, he may have been clipped by a car or he fell from the nest. His mom was around but he was injured enough that he needed medical intervention.

Beautiful little Crumpet taking a nap. 😴
Crumpet is not completely blind - she can't see very well but she can see if it's close to her face. She actually prefers her small cage probably because she feels secure and can see the whole cage. She plays, is active and eats well.

With a heavy heart, I am here to share that precious Peggy has gone to the Rainbow Bridge.
Last week she went out to The Janet L. Swanson Wildlife Hospital at Cornell University for a thorough examination to determine what exactly was making her walk with difficulty.

I've been through this before. Claudia didn't want any formula when she first came in either.
Once again, Stonyfield to the rescue!
Can you tell that Crumpet likes her Stonyfield Whole Milk Vanilla Yogurt?
I guess Stonyfield goes well on, I mean with, Crumpets.

I said I wasn't taking any babies. My surgery is less than two weeks away.
But somehow, the stars aligned just right. I think it was with the help of a certain smiling blind squirrel that helped Danielle bring this little girl, now named Crumpet, to my door this afternoon.

People often ask me if I can touch Peekaboo. Here's your answer. ❤️

Generally porcupines aren't all touchy/feel-y for obvious reasons but they can be affectionate.
Peekaboo is very independent and can be rather grumpy but he waits for me by his enclosure's door every afternoon.
