Agree wholeheartedly with all of these. When they killed off my boy Barristan the way they did I immediately lost faith in D&D as show-runners and writers... season 8 just cemented it in stone lol

Valadins are a proud, resilient people as hard as the hills they hail from; even their reddish-brown skin seems to hold a touch of their sacred iron. They are tall and sinewy with black or brown hair cropped short. Their mantra is "all turns to rust" and they encase their dead in iron.

Northern Valadin is the rocky coast of the Red Channel, habitually raided by Zarkoan korsairs; the interior is a barren, wind-swept plain of red dust known as the Rust Basin where rust storms rage; and the south is temperate forests on the way to the Elderwood of Kyaden.
