I believe it's a Turkish Proverb. There is a Greek one called "The Eagle Wounded By An Arrow". Very similar with the same message. Basically people harming themselves by their misplaced info or generosity. If these next 4 years go according to plan, those Proverbs can't be more true.

Basically, harming one's self by misplaced generosity.
