I'm in Louisville watching the local coverage, the crash was 2 miles from my house. I assumed the same but it actually happened on takeoff. No reasons been given yet

few ideas

set the risers on a rubber mat or towel, though that would be another thing to carry around

fill the entire riser with some kind of dense silicone or rubber till flush

coat the bottom inch or so in plastidip or similar, the same coating used on tool handles (I like this idea best)

I jumped in to Linux mint on an impulse recently, and ended up clearing windows off both machines I have. There have been some growing pains but I'm overtaken by the feeling you describe of using software made to meet my needs and not extract anything. Look forward to reading your work here!
