One of the cats we had when I was growing up caught her tail on fire like three times. This is my artistic rendering of her derpy ass doing it the first time.
She had no idea. I chased her to put it out, and she tried to climb the bookshelf with a fiery whip on her back end.

Learning to draw in all the wrong ways is fine.
I loosely traced, and then did my own thing over it, because I don't have the best line confidence (my work is typically either very abstract, or text/typography stuff)
I had to let go of perfectionism as much as I could.
