I usually go with the "is it looking like it belongs?" rule. For example I have a fairytale-theme enchantress Alela deck: I don't mind having a LOTR "flowering of the white tree"...it fits the theme // but I won't be adding a "with great power...". A giant spider-man in NYC definitely doesn't fit...

The only popular IPs I can think of that have lots of nonhuman characters are cartoons (Disney is out of the question due to lorcana) so I guess from cartoon network or Nickelodeon? "Adventure Time" or "Steven universe" or "TMNT" even

Mine is Alela enchantress! It has become by far my most expensive deck just by adding cool/flashy/foil upgrades and secret lair versions of cards over the years
