Oh but also, character animations target 60 EXCEPT for cutscenes where it's 30 EXCEPT that some animations are still at 60 and they have a switch for that in the cutscene commands 🫠

Also while they do target 30 FPS, it's... a mess. Character animations target 60 FPS and just advance the internal frame counter by 2 every frame to get 30. Room effect animations target 30, but for other effects it's 60, and effects that have any kind of physics were made for 30... it's a mess

On a technical note:

Outbreak barely does any runtime culling, not even backface culling. For different camera configurations they manually disable stage meshes if there's a need. They also don't render characters that are too close to the camera, but that's it really.
