Yeah I've played it quite a bit. It has some balance issues but it's fun dungeon style board game.

Yeah, I generally do that with kids who tend to not have much patience for longer games. We'd use simple one page RPG rules. Games like Honey Heist or Lasers & Feelings.

I think it having totally different subject matter helps. Like sci-fi or modern. Changes up expectations.

The Pool was very inspiring to me as an RPG designer. To me it's a foundational RPG for rules light design.

This is the good stuff. I’ve been leaning towards story games for a while but I’m glad there’s this fourth idea of prompt basis to further hone in on that particular idea.

I think rules need to generally be simple and clear with the examples being where things can be more elaborate.
