I kinda see this as other swords may see this as Unshou being too familiar with the sani (with ulterior motive in mind!), and may cause some drama/tension. I havent thought too much on this, and while not it may not be what you're talking about exactly, it def reminded me of that.

The Unshou in my headcanon is the only one that can actually speak SaniOC's own type of english dialect fluently. So this makes the usually reserved sani more open cause he can actually talk to someone and not struggle with language.

Pretty much spot on. I think back then people were more willing to talk, interact and give feedback. I don’t want to say it is now a Like a thing and move on to the next thing on your feed, but it really feels like it. It can make for a lonely experience now, even if you do get a lot of likes.
