If this government shutdown is just going to be a partisan PR battle between Democrats and Republicans with no regard for the people being hurt by it — then Democrats should just say they’ll vote to reopen the government in exchange for the full Epstein files being released.

Just like with the Minnesota House debacle at the beginning of the year, if just a few Forward Party members held seats in the U.S. Senate, they could have huge influence to break gridlock and force real compromise in these government shutdown fights.
