I get an odd amount of the same emails asking me if I need some paid help promoting my music - “Dear Sirs you may have misunderstood my role in this thing”
There’s definitely plenty of people willing to take your money as a band, so I can sort of see why people think it could work like that.
As much as I don’t want to admit it, I don’t think any music sites have that much clout anymore - reading about music is a pretty niche interest now
