No matter what, I always seem to come back to the blend of brutal and elegance that vampires hold.

Maybe it’s time to call the heretic warband good enough and just go have fun—kitbashing some steampunk techno-vampires, no pressure, no game system in mind. Just creating for the joy of it.

Now that it’s all been executed so well, my brain goes, “Well, I don’t need to do that anymore…”

Grimdark as a whole—especially the aspect I enjoy “grim-realism” has been pushed to such a high level lately that it leaves me wondering what I can contribute to it. What’s left for me to explore?

That said, I’ve noticed my own excitement for Trench Crusade waning a bit. I think it comes down to how much I enjoy bringing something to life that hasn’t been seen before—finding aspects of the story that captivate me but haven’t been fully represented yet.
