Lives in UK, ex-techie, travelled widely for work, mountain biker - slowly on level, likes trees, open spaces, & Chalk Downs, also Scotland.
There is a plant named Alchemilla, seemingly because Alchemists used it. Oddly, nothing eats its leaves in my (perhaps limited) experience, yet slugs congregate under it. I assume it contains an effective toxin, hence their interest.

I accept your viewpoint. I gave up a long time ago when they reported a story having corrected sodium chlorate to chloride. I assumed there was no-one on the team who knew the difference. Perhaps they have changed?

That the Grauniad should proffer CA's viewpoint no longer surprises me.

Perhaps a replacement government will tax them excessively? It should be a popular manifesto move.

I see they are former officers. I assume they represent the opinion of current officers who are, as yet, unable to comment. What do others think?

I assume it is Arctica islandica. I read about a page without confirmation of its name. I gave up.

Your standards may be slipping.

Since we've descended that far - 'Couldn't find his arse with both hands'.

I think the Party leadership contributed: MMcS can't claim all the credit.

Hi, what are the 'environmental levies' scrapped? Would they be about CO2 mitigation? Thanks.
December 16, 2025 at 12:32 PM
Thank you. I was hoping GPs would offer it, as previously.

Priorities count. Let's see ZP's campaign on green issues.

I would vote for a green party which concerned itself with issues of conservation rather than gender.

A week ago I used the NHS website looking for a local pharmacy offering an influenza vaccination. Their earliest appointment was Jan 5th. Would this represent a shortage of trained staff, or of vaccine?

This Brit presumes that an official plate-scanning system will identify vehicles of politicians and their immediate families as being potential kidnap or assassination victims.

How much permanent damage can they do before they get wiped out in the next election? In which they may hand power to Reform.
