Lovin' the PSP
"Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days" made its Japan debut on PSP this day in 2009. This enhanced version of Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories includes a new cast of characters and features from other games in the franchise, an 'Axel Mode' storyline, new monsters and more powerful spells.

Fellow PSP lover Futuremoddin and “Cobra Kai” producer Will Smith showing off a custom green for St. Patty’s Day!
(Deleted my prior post as someone on Reddit cropped the real photo, checkout the creator at www.instagram.com/futuremoddin)

Get your "most ambitious crossover in history" jokes ready, "Dissidia 012 [duodecim] Final Fantasy" released on this day in North America in 2011!

Some bangers released on PSP today, starting with Viewtiful Joe: Red Hot Rubble making its NA release on this day in 2006!

This album’s production was presumably ruined by Noel Gallagher’s fondness for cocaine, but I've always loved it and it sounds amazing on some IEMs. Shoutout to @aftermath.site for selling me on these!

Breaking in my new in-ear monitors with the latest from our Lady of Gaga and the best media player of the 00’s. #PSP

Happy birthday to "Metal Gear Ac!d 2" released on this day in 2006! Rather than the series' usual stealth, the Ac!d spinoffs are turn-based card battlers that still require you to avoid detection. Definitely worth a look!

Ostent batteries are considered the gold standard these days, you can get them under $30 on Amazon typically.

Today in 2009, the lone tie-in for the movie so bad it made the franchise's creator come out of a retirement, "Dragonball Evolution" was released today in Japan!

Sorry.

“Gods Eater Burst,” the enhanced re-release of “Gods Eater,” made its way to western shores on this date back in 2011. I regularly see this action-RPG making many people’s “best of the PSP” lists.

Remembering what is probably the biggest unforced error in video game advertising history. Nobody said “a literally white woman subjugating a literally black woman might have some negative connotation?” No one?

It’s a helluva day for “Syphon Filter” fans, as “Dark Mirror” was released on this date in the US in 2006!
(later came to PS2 but it’s harder to play that version on the bus)

Winner of IGN's "Best PSP Story 2009," the Insomniac developed "Resistance: Retribution" made its way to Japan on this date, bringing the fight to the US and EU on the 17th. Maybe not "bigger than Halo" as the back cover of the manual claims, but still a great portable shooter!
March 12, 2025 at 11:29 PM
On this day in 2010, the EU got a tasty snack with the release of "Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake!"
Fun fact, in Japan, the game is called "Pocchari Princess," which roughly translates to "plump" or "chubby," which, depending on how you feel about "fat," is better?

Lil Bow Wow taking a break from changing out tires in “Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift” to probably grind “Persona 3 Portable” on his handy PSP.

Hollywood superstar/actual cannibal Shia LeBeouf rocking a PSP instead of spying on his neighbor in “Disturbia (2006).”

Happy Mario Day everybody lol

On this day in 2010, Arc Systems Works brought its beloved 2D fighter franchise to Sony's handheld "BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger Portable" in North America, with nearly all the core gameplay retained and adding a "Legion" mode!
March 11, 2025 at 1:00 AM
Shoryuken, innit? "Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max" let gamers in the EU fight out in the streets (kinda) on this day in 2006!
March 10, 2025 at 11:00 PM
I can see this actually being on PSP back in the day.
March 10, 2025 at 3:50 AM
I figured out how to make fake PSP movie box art on my phone.
Who had THIS movie on UMD back in the day?

Random Game Saturday: the charming and slightly British “LittleBigPlanet!”

All I'm saying is there's no iconic image of someone licking a Nintendo DS.
March 7, 2025 at 6:45 PM
So on the anniversary of Joe leaving us, I want to encourage all the PSP fans to play “Daxter,” one of the games he worked on for Sony. It’s silly but it’s one way to appreciate how one man helped bring some fun into the world, even for those who didn’t know him.
