I definitely was, and i even texted my sister part way through that I was weirded out by my brain's casting.

I also wouldn't be forced to into lying about interviews if this job didn't wait until 2 weeks before end date to tell me if my contract is extended. I had to reach out multiple times to the contract agency and still had to snoop on my boss's calendar to find out when he might be telling them.

(As in sorry, I have to take my break /now/. I have to hop on a prayer call) more people are interested in it than ever?? My pitch about what it is, is identical I just don't follow it up with inviting people.

Despite moving virtual for a bit, they started holding in person/high contact events before it was legal- also the higher up in leadership, the more homophobic it got.
Tell me why, now I use it as an excuse to take job interviews during the work day-

Fucking around with the tax code so that their friends can get a billion dollar bonus, instead of high millions. They're stripping me of my ability to help the people they're hurting.
I can't breakdown right now. I physically can't afford it.

Any other viable option, I would respectfully finish out my contract and GO.
But no. While I live out the song of my generation (living paycheck to 4 days before next paycheck), some folks who've never had to wonder if they can get away with driving with expired tags for a week til payroll hits are

When I asked my temp agency I got a "well all was well at your last check in, so I bet they keep you"
DEAR HELEN AT THE TEMP AGENCY:
IF THE PRESIDENT KILLS THE ECONOMY THEYRE NOT EXACTLY GOING TO BE LOOKING TO TAKE ON ANOTHER EMPLOYEE
On top of it this job hasn't been a ~great~ experience and if I

Leave my badge and laptop and skip my final week. And you might ask "why not just ask your boss/temp agency?" OH HOW WISH I COULD
one boss has been out for 2 entire months, and while he was supposed to return Monday, his kid had her first kid so the likelihood of that happening is LOW

Guests, so the only reason I went out was to get coffee so I could focus on cleaning for the guests but also I'm panic applying to anything that is remote because when I leave the office on Thursday (I'm taking 2 unpaid days leave for family christmas because contract) they might just tell me to

So my credit is wrecked, my car is wrecked, my dog is due to be fixed in June, my lease renewal is due in May and coming with AT LEAST a $200 bump for rent, and oh yeah, family christmas is next weekend so I don't have time for a breakdown because while I'm dealing with that, my roommate is having

11.5 hours a day, 5 days a week, which is wholly unfair to my 2 year old dog. Why not just get a loan, get a shitty car, and move on?
Oh yeah, I FILED BANKRUPTCY IN JUNE, and 3 days later lost my job that I was damn good at.

1.5 blocks. Also, to add the bus to the train station adds 45 minutes to my journey, which is I even find a job, and it's downtown, it's a 40 minute train ride. Adding that in means and extra 2.5 hrs a day in traffic, on top of a typical office day of 8hrs+1 for lunch, means I'd be gone for about

And normally that would be like...annoying but doable. However, the "little leak" I've been babying in my radiator decided to fully bust after 5 years so I don't think I have a reliable vehicle, and while I do live near a city with great public transit, I have difficulty walking more than about

Like, here i am, 19 days before the end of my contract, applying for jobs AT BANKS, the night before the president is set to enact economy killing tarrifs, all of the jobs are moving to in person of course, because the president is making remote work /that much more/ competative.
