I genuinely, just yesterday, was trying to recall which right-wing commentator they lost.

The right had perceived grand plans of streets, buildings, and monuments built and named for this guy, but everyone forgot about him just about as quickly as they forget about anything.

It's really, really weird seeing adults in positions that once conveyed some sort of decorum behaving like a kid you just caught next to a broken vase with a baseball bat in his hand.

We teach literal children the values these people betray on an hourly basis.

Exactly! This is a "let them fight" situation, not a "We need to welcome the xenophobic, conspiracy theorist, racist into our party" situation.

Encourage what she's doing, but she deserves no acceptance. This is a power move, plain and simple.

I will never get used to a government that, from top to bottom, openly talks like your worst, most Fox-brained uncle at Thanksgiving.

I hear trash like this from the zombies at /r/conservative on Reddit where anything criticizing dear leader is nuked. I don't know how we fix this level of cult.

Is it surprising everything looks so messed up when every person with a lick of design sense and artistry got the hell away from this administration and the people who support it as quickly as possible? Every MAGA artist is the Kid Rock of their craft.
November 13, 2025 at 6:16 AM
These fucking people have cultivated a world in which all of them are lying about the most insignificant shit.

There's a zero percent chance he has not used ibuprofen, but he's now lying about it publicly, and every MAGA now has to lie about it or they're not true MAGA.

What even is the game here? Does he believe himself so invincible that he's doing this in the most public manner simply because he doesn't like being told no?

What a stupid fucking reason to starve people. Just pure evil.

It is kind of wild that in a functioning country even when you have to pay for a medical service it's not gonna drain your bank account.

An ambulance ride in the US is around $1500. 125 euros is just a bit under $150.

Not saying this couldn't happen with any admin, but foreign actors have to be drooling over the gaping holes in security that an incompetent administration like we've got currently opens up. A bunch of people who care about looking strong outwardly more than hardening real defenses.

As long as it benefits them, they will intentionally remain ignorant about it. If it stops benefiting them, they will manufacture some other falsehood to latch onto. It's unfortunately a form of stupidity we will be dealing with forever.

It looks like a fucking hotel bathroom now. The art deco one was timeless.

It's still wild to me that someone who presumably should know how to run a business thought that the path to profit at a paper was to alienate the people who typically *want* verified information and journalism and pander to a group who famously want nothing to do with it.
October 23, 2025 at 6:35 AM
I'd say I can't believe she willingly released this, but nothing is above the current administration.

So wildly fucking embarrassing.

Thanks, friend!

That sucks! I assume that'd fall into the same category. Locksmith seems like a natural extension since it's something a lot of people need in an emergency, so they're not as likely to research. It's also a problem for people looking to get their car towed, among other things.

Hell, depending on the ad they might double-dip by following up with a blackmail/FBI "bribe" scam.
October 20, 2025 at 8:42 AM
Of note - there are a lot of scams that revolve around offering some sort of service and then they'll hire someone local for you at an extreme upcharge. I think they're looking for dumb marks, so the weird type of awful that would be lured in by that type of ad is "perfect" for them.

I am very, very nervous to see it spool up as the midterms approach, and again for democratic primaries. Even knowing it's probably coming, I just don't have it in me to even attempt to change the minds of people immersed in an entire internet of ever-present algorithms.

I should also note that the largest Tea Party protest I ever covered was probably a few hundred people max. Barely approaching large local protests today, and not even in the same *realm* as the larger protests like the Women's March during Trump's first term or the No Kings rallies.
October 20, 2025 at 7:55 AM
It would be an interesting question to ask. As someone who has lived through both eras and covered both, I can only think of a single Tea Party protest that even *compares* to the stuff I'm seeing on a monthly basis today, and I work in Indiana, of all places.

They were also refusing to take them on for "pre existing conditions" like PCOS, which is *incredibly* common.

It's so, so, fucked up. We can't go back to that. It should be illegal to refuse anyone insurance in this country when the alternatives are bankruptcy or death.
October 20, 2025 at 7:44 AM
Yep, exactly. Earlier this year, my wife and I were eating in a Mexican restaurant and some 60+ year old dude pulled up OAN or some shit on his phone and was listening to it at full volume while he ate.
