There is a class on cryptids and conspiracies at the same time as my community ed class. Two friends and I took the long way so we could look at the guy who teaches it. He also teaches balloon twisting. This is not a joke.

Iirc the splats I have from 3.5 have classes, spells, items, and lore, but not rules as such beyond those - unless they're expanding the rules on the specific topic of the book, E.g. Stronghold builder's guide. Splat book was the first word that came to my mind for your original q.
