Reading @lizardbrain-art.bsky.social ‘s excellent Bronze Age fantasy Kaiju story, “Gargantuan”.

I’d LOVE to see more stories set in this fascinating world!

If you are in or near Kenosha, WI, check out Studio Moonfall - it’s an INCREDIBLE shop filled floor to ceiling with unique art, books by indie authors, & a wall of RPG’s, including a bunch that I worked on!

Flavor Text Adventures, Fire-Pearls of Aya-Ghan, Förk Borg, the Awful Amber Doom, & more!

There’s a place here in Alaska that makes top notch custom arctic winter coats for dogs. Dog boots, too - happy to send you a set!

8.5x11 is fractionally smaller than tabletop scale, but it’s real close, & I wanted to demonstrate what can be done w/a standard home printer.

For a perfectly accurate size, I’d print it a little bit bigger (maybe 10-15% more) at a place like Kinko’s on 11 x 14, but this is absolutely close enough

Et VOILÀ!

A quick, easy, & effective way to get a building front onto your tabletop.

It’s about 20 minutes of work total, with more than half of that in cutting it out with the hobby knife, & a 30 minute break to let the glue dry.

Many RPG books have a TON of art that you can do this with!
November 18, 2025 at 9:23 PM
Glue the short side of the crease to the back of the building so it’s got a little lean from the angle’d cut.

This helps it stay standing better than if it was perfectly square to the tabletop.
November 18, 2025 at 9:18 PM
Then grab a piece of heavy paper (I used black cardstock, but a cut up cereal box or Manila folder works just fine). Cut it into a rectangle that’s not as tall as the building, fold it about 1/3 of the way across, then cut a slight angle into the longer side of the crease.

This will be the stand.

Any thin bits that’d be fragile or fiddly, I just left a bit of extra border around them & blackened them with the sharpie.

You can get suuuuper picky with this, or just cut a loose silhouette - either way works. I land somewhere in the middle.

Give it a little bit of time to dry, then cut it out carefully with a hobby knife.

You can skip this step (and the last one) by printing the image on cardstock, but I like foamcore - it’s got just enough weight that it doesn’t as easily blow over if you breathe on it.
November 18, 2025 at 9:09 PM
Next step, cut it out with a scissors and glue stick it to a scrap piece of black foamcore.

You can see how much this simple process makes the individual parts of the drawing stand out even after it’s been enlarged to more than double it’s original size.
November 18, 2025 at 7:06 PM
Working on a little tabletop prop - I printed the Inn art from my “Old Bull & Bush” zine out at full letter page size, then spent about 3 mins with a sharpie tracing over edges to emphasize them.

Even tiny drawings can look great when enlarged if you take some time to poke at them.

Another illustration by @artofcaustic.bsky.social for our upcoming post-deluge apocalyptic fantasy pirates Shadowdark book - SHADOWSAILS.

The Dragon Turtle, one of the mightiest creatures of the darkened seas!

Today’s envelope skull!

It’s done!

The Old Bull & Bush, an RPG Zine detailing the inn where the “Guild of the Eternal Flame” novel series by Talia Beckett begins!

Written by me (Talia sorted the menu!), it’s got a two page map, four adventure hooks, a new monster, & everything you’d need to use the inn in your games.

I don’t think I’ve ever even heard of the Savage Empire series, but, damn. The series description sounds great!
November 12, 2025 at 2:46 PM
The favorite line I’ve written today as I work through extremely brief monster descriptions:

“Dryad, Driftwood:

Grief-stricken and lost, these woodland spirits desperately seek any relict forests to take root in.”

The Kickstarter for our Fantasy Waterworld-ish setting approacheth ever nearer!

Game night at my house!

Dragonmaster, a gorgeous 1981 card game (basically Hearts with themed goals each turn), Birria consommé made in the crock pot, plus fresh-baked corn bread, two pies, homemade cookies & a whiskey sampler.

A damn fine way to spend an evening.

I need to do this more often.
November 9, 2025 at 9:44 AM
Annnnd it’s done!

This is the printer’s proof, I’ll have copies for sale in a few days.

Each one hand stamped!

I might even remarque the first ten or so.

Just finished reading Charles Soule & Ryan Browne’s ‘Eight Billion Genies’, and I’d put it right up there with Rick Veitch’s ‘The One’ as one of the best eschatological comics ever written.

A genuine joy to read; sad and heartfelt and glorious and funny all at once.

Spotted in the wild - some cool minis converted & painted by by Alec Mulinder!

My Forge of Ice ‘Mutant Terror Bird’, carrying a customised Space Slann, with a unit of David Wood’s Tenoc Warriors on old school Citadel Culchans.

Now watching:

The Elixir, on Netflix.

Expectations are pretty low, but, I’ll give them credit. Five minutes in, and we’ve got our first zombie attack.
