I painted this piece around the time I was finishing my master's degree in Vienna (late 2010). Was feeling bogged down for quite some time but with some help I eventually started focusing more again. With peace of mind the drawing comes much easier. The bird is just waiting to take off for flight.

A small exercise in whimsy today! Experimenting with animation and gif optimisation techniques so I thought I'd try and animate a sequence of watercolour panels of a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. The different panels are supposed to show different times of the day.
