Paris is transforming its landscape and climate by planting a large number of trees (native species) in the city to lower temperatures and improve rainwater runoff to reduce flooding and improve air quality in the city.

This is the way intelligent humans change the cities they live in.

Yes, absolutely!

As @irishrainforest.bsky.social has pointed out about rewilding: the free option to allow nature to simply rewild a previously destroyed piece of earth is best, but seems less productive than “investing money and hiring people”.

Extreme forest fires 🔥 caused by heat waves due to climate change are causing devastation in Chile.

President Gabriel Boric has confirmed 99 people have died so far.

Valparaíso has been burning for over two days and the fires remain out of control.
