Our annual Rake-a-thon was last weekend, and you all knocked it out of the park! Together, 110 volunteers raked 7.25 miles of trails in Forest Park and Marquam Nature Park! In just one day, we knocked out over 10% of our annual raking plan!

No Ivy Day update: Due to predicted wind gusts above 20 mph tomorrow (and heavy wind and rain today), we are cancelling tomorrow's No Ivy Day for everyone's safety. High winds and rain in the forest can cause falling trees and branches, making conditions too hazardous to host a volunteer event.

Raking season is nearly upon us! Every year, FPC works with volunteers to rake the 50+ miles soft surface trails in Forest Park and Marquam Nature Park to keep the trails safer and prevent erosion.

It's not every day that you get to see elk in Forest Park, but they are always a welcome sight out in the forest! Bill, one of our independent volunteers, recorded this sighting in the park last week.

We hope you enjoy this reminder that Forest Park serves as an important wildlife habitat!

Over the summer, we have been hard at work with our volunteers to brush the trails in Forest Park and Marquam Nature Park.

This year, we are happy to report our most successful brushing season to date! Thanks to the efforts of 421 volunteers, we brushed a total of 51.91 miles of trails!

National Public Lands Day is just over two weeks away! Join us in Forest Park and Marquam Nature Park to give back to our forests and help us clear invasive English ivy.

Employees from The Standard joined us last Thursday to help us conduct work on the trails and in the office. Thank you to The Standard for supporting our work, and for all of their employees who lent us a hand!

Last weekend, we held the last public brushing work party of the season! 11 volunteers joined FPC team members and volunteer crew leaders on Maple Trail. Together, we brushed half a mile of trail for the last brushing work party of the summer! See you again in the fall, volunteers!

This fall, we are partnering with Sparrowhawk Native Plants to raise funds for FPC. On August 17th, you can preorder plants from Sparrowhawk's website. After preordering, you can select Montgomery Park as your pick-up location. When you do, a portion of your purchase will go towards supporting FPC!
