I hated losing when I was a kid. Somewhere along the way though, in many things I realized I learned way more from losing than I did from winning. Magic was great to reinforce that for me, especially when I was doing PPTQ's in the greater Boston area (so many chances to Q, so many 2nd places 😅)

I am out of the mtg loop, but I had missed that.

Fit-ting! I had two of these over the years, and a civic-cx before they existed, damn wonderful cars.

The classic "what kind of food do we have?"
"Pounds."
"...oh."

A few years later Softdisk subscription my dad got really opened things up though!

Lovely shot! I grew up in North Berwick, Maine, US and got to meet some denizens of the original when I was a lad, hoping to get to see it with my own two eyes someday.

I miss it. And am in good old man company apparently. I was on a break from ~2001 to 2009 and thought they were joking when they told me it was no longer part of the game at FNM.

That subtitle deserves the "King of shit mountain is still standing in a pile of shit" reference.

If you're in the Boston-Portsmouth area the Friendly Toast local chain does that and also a frappe with optional alcohol. It is surprisingly good, even if you don't like moxie. (It's eggnog territory for me, I think it's great but would tire of it all the time)

The moxie-coffee ice cream float is nice, I'm not in Maine anymore but I hope to move back some day.

Shit choice too... But an unimaginative shit choice.

Have you tried "sumos"/satsuma mandarins? I don't really like oranges, but I have the same problem(?) every winter where I buy a few pounds of them every week until the growing season ends.

Woolbright, also dope! I forgot about that excellent thumbnail choice.
