You are right that Chinese New Year is late Jan or Feb, which is when my fam celebrates, but Japan is that interesting case where they still retain a lot of the zodiac influences, but celebrate New Year's on Jan 1. So you may see eg Year of the Horse inspired art 'early' from that part of the www.

Oddly enough, I’m ok with a Lan Wangji that uses contractions for succinctness but chooses the more formal and/or archaic diction (I.e. won’t 🚫 but shan’t 👍). Or “T’was the night before Christmas”

I agree, resume was a no for me. Cover letters, on the other hand…if I’m being honest it was awfully tempting after my sixtieth soulless job appli, and that’s with a template. I mean, I didn’t in the end, but Idk I have a strange block with cover ltrs and that’s where ai would’ve got me.

Haha from the Cantonese dialect perspective it’s not wrong - the standard Canto term is actually 舅父 (pronounced as Jiu Fu in Mando) for maternal uncle. Repeating words like Jiu Jiu (舅舅) is one form of baby-talk/endearments in Canto though this would be HIGHLY context-dependent 😉

I’ve come across one or two with this premise (or at least where LXC’s ill-timed comment is the straw that broke the donkey’s back for WWX). But I agree we can definitely use more!
