We put the new pocket-size vinyl format to the test—with mixed results
It’s a fun new format, but finding a place in the market may be challenging.

I’m extremely skeptical about the claims Apple made about the iPhone cameras today. I don’t think 8x is optical zoom; I think it’s a 12MP crop of the 4x lens. There’s no images of the internals like there were last year.

I have a call I recorded via iPhone today and the transcription is completely terrible; It leaves out most of the call. Is there a way to force iOS to regenerate it?

@gruber.foo Re using ®️ in the title of F1 The Movie, “F1” is a registered trademark that Apple had to license for the movie and is almost certainly contractually obligated to mark as such whenever they use it.

A colleague at Stanford’s business school used The Stanford Daily to argue—poorly—against DEI. The piece was riddled with historical errors and left one searching for fact, so I broke my public writing hiatus to respond.

I hope you’ll read and share the piece.

@pxlnv.bsky.social On the one hand, I agree that RSD is a little out of control. At the same time, it feels a little like snobbery to dunk in the Rock-afire Explosion.

I just had to replace all three wiper blades on my not-quite-2-year-old Civic and the OEM parts were $100. Tried getting replacements at Autozone and Advance Auto Parts and the recommended replacements didn’t actually work. 😵

The DOGE team does NOT have the time, skills, or resources to do any kind of actual “audit” of federal data or to “modernize” the information systems to which they have gained access—which are the lies being asserted to give them cover.

So what are they really doing in these systems?
