This weekend, I learned my father never hit the brakes when crossing railroad tracks. It’s such a small detail, but for me, it’s a precious piece of the puzzle of someone I never really got to know. Sometimes it’s the tiny stories that give us the most meaningful glimpses into those we’ve lost.

Pittsburgh could be a tree-filled paradise with bike lanes galore, but if we don’t fix the parking problem Downtown, businesses will look elsewhere. Employers need a place talent can park without having to take out a 2nd mortgage.

I wish the city of Pittsburgh would focus on the true problem that is keeping businesses away and making them leave downtown.
