..so, as an Interested Amateur, can I assume that the current expert thinking is that most (all?) "complex traits" are highly polygenic (and the genes pleiotropic), making most of these targeted genetic engineering claims unworkable fantasies?

The deCODE connection made me suspect as much. ;-) Some of my old (ex-CCP Games) colleagues did a stint there too, although I think they've since moved on to other things.

I saw this original claim, and was wondering about it. A brief search suggested that it *might* be more solid than other early CGS results, but I don't know.

But do you know the literature well enough, as a pro, that I should just dismiss it?

..originally refugees/escapees/outlaws from Norway in the 9th century (and some abductees from Ireland eventually) then, more recently, people like me escaping from the UK!

It's quite civilised now, and the climate's not *quite* as bad as you might expect, although the current 4hr days are not fun!

I live in Reykjavik (am originally from the UK), and it seems that the place changed radically during and after WWII (in terms of economic development etc.) as a consequence of British and US troops setting up bases here, and later subsiding development post-war.
