Both Eddington and Bugonia have this problem. Eddington in a particularly frustrating way because two thirds of the movie were quite grounded and serious.

If someone invented a cryptocurrency which could transfer quickly with a small footprint and automatically diluted its own value so it was slightly inflationary I'd be interested in the project.

The big problem with immortality is without time pressure there's no particular reason to do anything. You stop being towards anything, the inherent motion of your life becomes rudderless.

Though perhaps I'm just too cynical. I've always thought of life as just killing time until death anyway.

When I was briefly running a philosophy in film club this was one of my favorite movies we watched. There is so much to dig into, I think discussion went two hours.

Hell yeah! One of my favorite Minecraft houses I ever built was on a small island floating in the sky above a pond. I exclusively used an artificial waterfall to get in and out.

This is a very astute observation. I hadn't thought about it as explicitly the mandate of heaven, but I've been thinking and reading about this phenomenon a lot recently.
