I've heard this expression, too. IMO - I think the backlash has more to do with the CEO of American Eagle, who is a major Trumper, as well as Sweeney's parents, who are magats. Personally, the ad doesn't bother me so much because I have never been an AE patron, regardless of the model/campaign.

I have been sick and haven't eaten solid foods for a few days. I ordered a mushroom & swiss cheeseburger. I kept thinking that it tasted weird after a few bites. I finally cut it in half and realized that it was undercooked.
