Loved the show and I’m enjoying the podcast! One nit though: Carol isn’t miserable and certainly not the most miserable on Earth BEFORE the events, but after, she absolutely is, when compared to Us and probably the other 12 unaffected. Sort of a genius description IMHO

I agree w/ this but I think Trump is deluded. He’s treating it as a patrimonial state but he’s surrounded by true oligarchs (foreign and domestic) biding their time. Trump is a useful idiot who they will allow to wreck the status quo and take the blame for it before stepping in to cement control.
