It’s autumn and the world’s on fire. Tachihara slinks back into the Port Mafia base, crisp cool air left behind for sterile, cold air conditioning. His stiff government uniform is discarded for his comfortable Port Mafia wear. Mori’s called him, and he prays his boss doesn’t know why he’s been absent lately. He’s been telling him he’s out searching for the Black Lizards, even though he knows what happened to them, even though he knows he won’t find them. He feels like shit for using them as the scaffold for a lie like this. His boss. He scoffs and shakes his head a little. He feels like a mutt running between two masters, and he fears being beckoned by both simultaneously. He doesn’t know who he’d run to first. Would it be Mori, sharp as those scalpels he wields, loved as a boss, and feared as an enemy? Or Fukuchi, even more charismatic, with the world in his palm and the power to shift its axis on a whim?

Even a wolf without a pack may find a raven to bond with. The raven, while fully aware of the wolf’s strength, its fangs, its scars, will delight in playing with it. The raven will also help the wolf, leading it to carcasses which the raven cannot access with its own beak, for it needs the wolf’s sharp teeth to dig into the body first. Elise is dressed in a black dress, embroidered red highlights like blood splatters on it. Gide follows behind her, looking around. They're in a Port Mafia monitored part of Yokohama, not out of the port, yet unable to smell the sea from here. It's unnerving.

first, a bowl i'm currently working on - it should be yellow and blue when i'm finished, with black serving as the color for the smaller detail work.
a small unfired clay bowl with blue glaze on it. there's brown glaze in the shape of stars and a full moon over the blue, and the bottom has no glaze on it. a shot of the same unfired bowl from a different side. this time, the brown glaze is in the shape of a sun, straight rays shining off of it. the glaze under it is a different shade of blue. a shot of the same bowl, still unfired, from the inside. the two blues meet in the middle, with one side having a small sun with tiny rays shining off and the other having a crescent moon with three stars around it.

Call it foolishness, call it whatever. He reaches into his pocket for the one scrap of the Page left, and he matches Ranpo’s smirk with his own. “Then let’s play a game.” The rules are simple, really. If Fyodor proves he truly has rid the world of abilities, then he wins. If Ranpo somehow proves him wrong, then they win. They’ll travel for this, so that Fyodor may show as much evidence as he likes. (So that Fyodor can show Ranpo enough to break them.) on fyodor, ranpo, and pyrrhic victories
