The universe likes me today. Drive to U Village as I was getting to the line of cars in the parking garage for parking the car in the spot right next to me pulled out so I didn’t have to wait. Then the Bagel place I’ve been wanting to try also famous for long lines didn’t have one today.

I’m listening to a book about Thaddeus Stevens and I hate how every time I listen to anything about the Civil War/Reconstruction Era that I get reminded that we’re still having the same arguments today.

I saw this on a telephone pole near Easy Street Records in West Seattle a couple of weeks ago and received my copy today.

Oh boy, John Oliver is doing a segment on the Bailey’s.

Pretty proud of myself. I managed to build an hour and 43 minute dinosaur themed playlist with only one Weird Al Song that might be considered a children’s song.

givebutter.com/WilkesonsWay.... Sharing the link to the fundraiser that Carlson Block posted on their Instagram page. With the closure of the Fairfax Bridge Wilkeson could use some help. FYI Carlson Block makes some of the best pizza in Washington state.

Is it just me but does Mon Mothma seem like Galadriel from Lord of the Rings. Like the whole surroundings seem like they are the elves. Touched by the oppression but they can skedaddle if they want to.

I just got to see Sinners in IMAX and thought it was great.

On a happier note I completed the Invincible comics and I’m glad the show does such a good job on expanding the stories and characters. Can’t wait for you know who in season 4. I might pick up some of the other characters runs in the meantime.

Ugh, I’ve been recently trying to get caught up on some of the digital comics I’ve purchased over the years and just finished the “last” issue of H-e-r-o aka Dial H for Hero only for it to end on a cliffhanger. Turns out there are 6 more issues that DC never reprinted.

I did not do well on my movie watching in 2024 so for 2025 the plan is to get those Letterboxd logs back on track. I want to try and hit that halfway mark on the 1001 Movies to See Before You Die list.

Anyone else trying to put a thumb on the scales to bump an album or song off their Spotify/Apple 2024 list before December ends?

I’m not gonna lie I’m kind of ok with the Instagram algorithm throwing me into a donkey rabbit hole.

Almost ready. Making homemade turkey stock.

Wish me luck. Heading to the butcher shop I ordered my turkey from using the light rail. If I pull this off successfully I feel I’ll have finally earned my mass transit merit badge.

Just a reminder folks people who work in customer service aren’t there for you to take your bad day out on. Also they don’t set the prices so yelling at them for how much more expensive your cupcake is accomplishes absolute dick.

The rule of just always is a fun one at work. Meaning anytime someone say “Oh, you just need to install xyz”. It almost always is vastly more complicated than just that simple task.

Just completed listening to The Rise and Fall of the Second American Republic by Manisha Sinha. I’d listened to Du Bois’s book on Reconstruction a while ago and I thought this was a good companion to that which expanded on the subject in certain areas. Highly recommend.

Listening to When the Clock Broke by John Ganz and I had to kind of laugh when Eric Adams was mentioned talking against corruption in the NYPD in the 90’s.

I know I’m late to the game but I love that Poker Face used the Columbo font for its opening credits.
