May I present 'The Stupidest Thing I've Read This Year' thanks to Reddit.

In 1992 I wrote to Santa asking him to put white chocolate on digestives.
Now it's happened but I have received no royalties or acknowledgement for conceiving the idea. Clear Big Biscuit read children's Christmas letters.

A little health update after my oncology appointment yesterday ❤️ #cancer #oncology
Despite my best catastrophisations, today's appointment was unexpectedly positive. My last CT scan had shown a few lesions appearing in my lower abdomen which is where I have my nightly blood thinner injections. Upon inspection Dr S wasn't too worried and speculated that they had been there before, but only now they'd become realised on the scan with the contrast. A lot of my catastrophising had beeen just that. Silly brain. The cool part of the appointment was the most positive news I think I could have asked for was a Plan C. As I am sure to those who are familiar with my situation, when I was first diagnosed and I started Immunotherapy, Targeted Therapy WAS the plan B and then I ended up going and having a haemorrage and it was the targeted therapy and the willingness my oncologist and her boss to take a massive risk in getting the drugs into me no matter what which saved my life. I was now on the Plan B and beyond that and trials, once it stopped working that was it pretty much apart from divine intervention or time travel or some sort of magic ritual involving cheese, rope, three goats, a small family hatchback three quarters of a ton of ripe mangos. But thanks to the boffins at The Royal Marsden, I now have a Plan C which, itself, could actually get me, best case scenario, another five years and without the need for time travelling goats. TIL Therapy has produced some incredible results and it's the first solid tumour cell therapy that has really worked. Four out of five patients respond, and there have been some amazing results too. It is hard work though. After surgically removing a tumour, harvesting the tumour cells and doing whole bunch of other technical sciencey stuff which definitely doesn't involve goats or mangos, but does involves giving me chemotherapy, possibly immunotherapy too, I have to still be able to do that whilst I have uncontrolled cancer doing its thing. But given the alternative, its pain versus big gains. Also it will be available Q2 next year so I have to hope that nothing stops working until then. In a situation where you don't get much positivity, being given extra hope is a rare gift and one I am grateful for :)

But credit is due to the rest of it. The kitchen is modern, it's warm, the appliances work, the hot tub sort of works, the bath definitely works, you could definitely live in one of these.

Day 2: Thoughts about the lodge. Details matter - (it's not a chalet darling, it's got underfloor heating, hot tub and an eco-loo) it's been well built and clearly a lot of money has been sunk into it. But details, like the granite hard sofa and the equally granite hard bed, seem overlooked.
