Proud Canadian. Childless Cat Lady. Another Caretaker of the Planet.
Wasn't sure if the existing bill had financial aspects...hence the question I think.

He referenced secondary financial sanctions and as powerful. Less so with tariff based sanctions.

Sounds like the Nigerian prince scam - Americans pay more now for the "billions" you will get later.

Going great! Haven't bought anything American since Feb. No Uber Eats - keep getting "we miss you" emails.
Got Britbox directly, too.
I do miss Acorn: it's part owned by RLJ & I haven't been able to confirm their stance on things (anyone know?). Really wish PBS came directly.

Happy Carney went. He saw the off-screen players (as they met behind closed doors as well). When going into a negotiation, I think it's important to see the circus on their home stage. Get the measure of people.

Also, he clearly communicated we will close loopholes in USMCA and voters have spoken.

💯
I think he handled Trump well.

The WH is not for sale is layered too given what's been going on with that Administration.

Carney's craftily says that he looks forward to USMCA negotiations b/c the US has taken advantage of it w/ the tariffs, and that is going to change.

Very matter of fact.

Love his expressions!

Trump: We don't do that much business with Canada

Carney: "Say what?" expression.

Congrats Australians. Proud you held the line.

I'm very glad he lost his seat. Found him very divisive. I felt he tapped into a meanest and darkness and tried to normalize it. Him losing his seat is a message from voters that this isn't where we want Canada to go. Canada is about inclusivity & respect.

Hope Conservative pick a better leader.

Cool. Thanks.

Good luck Mark!

A PM like you gives us a chance to navigate the choppy waters and storms ahead. Without a strong economic plan, there will be no building, no defense, no preparation for a prosperous future, and no safeguards for young & old.

A plan (esp by a smart person) is better than no plan.

Same thought went thru my head. Heartbreaking really.

Canada has a chance to elect a person who in 2008, has already shown Canadians he has the skills needed today.
Then he stepped up for Ireland and England.

The platform he put out today goes beyond just getting us through the upcoming onslaught. It feels like it will be the wind at our backs.

Thanks for the email address.

Is there some facility where the debate committee can be questioned as to why they felt these news outlets deserved so many representatives?

They took the spots of legit journalists who would have asked questions a majority of Canadians are actually interested in.

And the kids summer fun too.
April 16, 2025 at 3:13 AM
With the tariffs, it's like Trump's canceled Christmas for the kids.

Hard pass.
Things need to improve bigly first
